As an international, English-speaking Catholic community, the Caravita Community is deeply committed to ecumenism and interreligious dialogue. To strengthen our journey toward Christian unity and mutual support, we are proud to share our formal covenants with two significant partners in Rome.
Below, you will find the texts of our historic agreements, which outline our shared missions, mutual promotion of our works, and joint activities.
Covenant Renewal 2024 Between the Anglican Centre in Rome and the Caravita Catholic Community
This renewed 2024 covenant builds on a formal fellowship and friendship established in 2013. It reflects our natural affinities and shared goals, anchored by the weekly celebration of the Eucharist. Through this agreement, we commit to mutual support, which includes sharing our respective spaces, offering preaching opportunities at each other’s services, and remembering one another in our Eucharistic prayers.
The covenant also outlines our dedication to organizing joint events, such as the Ash Wednesday liturgy, Christmas lessons and carols, and participation in the annual Caravita Ecumenical Lenten Retreat in Orvieto.

Methodist Ecumenical Office Rome (MEOR) and the Caravita Community Covenant
Signed on January 25, 2026, this covenant formalizes a warm and abiding relationship that has been nurtured since MEOR’s establishment in 2014. This document emphasizes our shared spiritual communion, explicitly acknowledging our common Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and recognizing each other’s baptisms into Christ’s holy Church.
Alongside sharing in special liturgies like Ash Wednesday and Christmas carols, this partnership outlines collaborative initiatives such as a ‘conversazione’ event with a Methodist theologian or significant church leader, and shared participation in the week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
