Anthony P. SooHoo, S.J.
Anthony is from New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago. As a Jesuit, he studied philosophy at Fordham University and theology at Boston College. After completing his dissertation on violence in Mesopotamia at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University, he moved to Rome. Currently, he teaches in the Oriental Faculty at the Pontifical Biblical Institute, where he helps students understand the historical, cultural, and religious contexts that influenced the creation and transmission of the Bible.
Fr. Anthony enjoys cooking (his favorite food is Chinese), reading, playing chess, learning new languages, and doing crossword puzzles. He has a good sense of humor and is most creative when interacting with others on a team. As a member of the pastoral staffof Caravita, he is grateful for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated, vibrant, and generous faith community.
