Caravita 15th Anniversary
From 16th to 18th October, 2015 Caravita celebrated its 15th Anniversary.
The celebrations began on Friday, 16th October with an Anniversary concert from”The Bishop’s Consort” the Durham University, U.K.-based Anglican choir under the Direction of The Rt. Revd. David Stancliffe, Retired Bishop of Salisbury. The Bishop’s Consort also sang on Sunday both at the Anniversary Mass and at Evensong.
On Sunday, 18th October, Caravita was delighted to welcome the Archbishop of Manila and recently elected President of Caritas Internationalis, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who presided and preached at the Caravita Anniversary Liturgy. Also in attendance were the Most Reverend George V. Murry S.J., Bishop of Youngstown, Ohio and the Most Reverend Sir David Moxon, Archbishop of Canterbury’s representative to the Holy See and Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome.
A Solemn Ecumenical Evensong was held on Sunday evening, presided by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, and preached by the Most Reverend Sir David Moxon. Also present was the Reverend George V. Murry S.J. During the evensong the Caravita-Anglican Centre Ecumenical Covenant which was signed two years ago was renewed by the Most Reverend Sir David Moxon and by Keith F. Pecklers S.J., Director of Caravita.
